We made it back up to San Francisco last weekend to visit Alcatraz. I was very interested to see what the prison was like, and take the tour. It was a little expensive, but worth it!
These are a couple of the bridges around the San Francisco Bay area, shot from the island. The first is the Bay Bridge, and the second is the Golden Gate Bridge. Once again, it was very overcast, so the pictures aren't great.
We did the audio tour that's available in the cell area. It was VERY interesting, and well put together. I think it took us about 45 minutes to an hour to go through the tour. We were lucky to get to the dining hall just as a man was starting a presentation on Al "Scarface" Capone. It was about an hour long, and really good. The man talked about his whole life, and what led up to all the different things he did. It was interesting to hear more stories about someone who had actually lived in Alcatraz.

I took Spencer's picture next to the picture of some of the convicts who tried to escape. One of them looks strangely familiar....
Spencer's friend Brandon came with us. On the way to the island, we decided to ride on the top deck of the cruise ship...bad idea. It was pretty cold! We rode inside on the main floor on the way back.
