Vaughn Bennion Smith 1959 ~ 2008Vaughn Bennion Smith passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, September 22, 2008. Vaughn was born Dec. 1, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John S. and Faye B. Smith. A lifelong resident of Bountiful, he graduated from Viewmont High School where he participated with several sports teams. Vaughn was an avid sports fan, held season tickets for the Utah Jazz, and loved watching the Dallas Cowboys. He loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed caring for his exotic pets. He loved to travel, especially to Southern California. Vaughn loved to tease his many nieces and nephews who will especially miss him. He worked alongside his family at their business, J & L Garden Center, for over 25 years. He realized a dream when he opened Vaughn's Baseball Cards. He loved to watch and play softball, and he sponsored several Bountiful Recreation teams. Vaughn is survived by his father, John; brothers, Gary (Brenda); Duane (Marilyn); Gordon (Kris); Craig (Kristin); Alan (Diane); sisters ReNae (Glen); Sharon; Maurine (Bob); Mary Anne (Scott); 60 nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Vaughn was preceded in death by his mother, Faye; nephew, Kent; and brother-in-law, Gary.
My dad's brother, Vaughn, passed away last Monday. Kaitlyn and I had the chance to drop by my Aunt's house and see him, with my parents and sister, Kristine, just a few hours before he died. Here are the brothers carrying his casket.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad that you were able to visit before he passed. That must be comforting.
Your little daughter is such a cutie. I loved looking at her pictures. The one in the tilted crib is so funny! She really is so beautiful!
