Kaitlyn turned 4 on the 2nd. She wanted to have a party, and because of how schedules worked out we ended up having her party on her actual birthday. She was an excited girl all day long. She wanted to have a fairy party, but since we were inviting her sunbeam class we turned it into a fairy / pirate party. Lots of people were out of town for the 4th of July, but 5 of her friends were able to come celebrate with her (which was PLENTY of 4 year olds. :) ). The girls decorated fairy wands, and the boys decorated pirate hats. Then we had a treasure hunt that had them do different activities along the way before getting the next clue (read a pirate story, a fairy cake walk, walk the plank, and pin the x on the treasure map). After they found the treasure, we opened presents and ate cupcakes and ice cream. It was so fun to watch her interact with her friends at her party. She was so spoiled with the presents they gave her. Before the party, I had her practice saying, "Oh, Thank you!" really loud, so her friends would know she loved their presents. She did a great job remembering to say that after each gift.
My parents were in town, and that night we had a pizza dinner, ate cake and ice cream, and opened family presents. If you check out the pictures above, I think you'll be able to tell which present was her favorite. Good job, Aunt Lisa. :)
Happy Birthday, Kaitlyn! We love you!

From the smile on her face, the favorite gift is either the Cake... or the Pillow-pet!!! Looks like she had a fun party. Love how you've lined the hallway with balloons - what a fun idea.
Thanks for the suggestion Cynthia :)
We had lots of fun! Great pictures!
