Trip to Utah

We had such a great trip to Utah back in July and August.  It's always so much fun to spend time with our families and watch the kids play with their cousins.
Grandma Smith has an awesome bounce house that the kids had a great time playing in.  These pictures are from the day we got to Utah, and you can see how excited the kids were.  They pretty much stayed that excited the whole time we were there. :)
Kaitlyn and Tally are still pretty much inseparable (unless Sara is around. :))  They had a great time having sleepovers and playing together every chance they got.

Bear Lake:
Grandma Koeven rented a great house for us to stay in when we went to Bear Lake this year.  It was nice to have a place to go for kids to take naps, and to relax inside in cooler temperatures.  I camped in the backyard earlier this year with Kaitlyn, and David was out with us for an hour or so. It was obvious there was going to be no sleeping done by him, so he went inside with Spencer for the night.  It was so nice to have this house, and not attempt to sleep in a tent with David. :)
Kristin brought several crafts for the kids to do. Kaitlyn and Grandma Smith worked on several out on the back balcony.

The entire Smith family together. From left to right: Tyler, Kristine (baby Emmaline), Spencer, Cynthia, David, Dad, Mom, Kaitlyn, Tally, Brian, Abby, Baely, and Lisa.  It was so fun to be able to spend so much time together.

Cache County Fair:
Spencer's parents took us to the Cache County Fair. Kaitlyn got a little distracted looking at all the fun lights and rides available, but she had a fun time seeing all the animals.  Grandpa taught her how to be a real cowboy with a piece of straw in her mouth.

Tony's Grove:
We went for a hike with the Mann family around Tony's Grove lake.  David had a fever and cough, so he ended up staying back with Grandma Smith while we had a fun day with cousins.

Kaitlyn wanted to be brave and climb on top of some rocks like everyone else.  Uncle Jon was nice enough to keep her safe near the edge. :)

Smith Backyard:
My mom has lots of fun things to do/eat in her back yard - grapes and raspberries being the favorite, along with blueberries, tomatoes, and lots of veggies.  Not to mention chickens, a sand pile, and often a bounce house.  The kids loved spending time out there.

Kennecott Copper Mine:
The Wednesday before we returned to Texas we took a trip up to the Kennecott Copper Mine.  I hadn't been there for a long time, and it was kind of fun to see how huge it is.  I don't think the kids really understood it, but they liked seeing the huge tire and big trucks that go along with them.

Kristine's Baby Shower:
Kristine had her Koeven / Smith/ J&L baby shower while I was in town.  And boy did she get spoiled!  It was fun to watch her unwrap so many cute little girl outfits.  Kaitlyn and Tally did a great job passing presents along to her to open.
Tally did NOT want her picture taken, but I got this cute one of her.  Kaitlyn then asked me to take her picture (above Tally's).  Two very cute girls!

Great Grandma Mann's Grave:
A few months ago Kaitlyn noticed a cemetery as we were driving to the store.  She was interested in seeing one, so I told her we would visit someone we knew while we were in Utah.  So one afternoon we took a trip to the Bountiful cemetery and saw her Great Grandma and Grandpa Mann's grave.  (A few weeks later, back in Texas, she noticed another cemetery and asked what the name was again.  When I told her, she felt that wasn't a good name and decided she would call it something else.  It was supposed to be cuter and easier to remember, but I cannot remember what it was. :) )

Final Days with Cousins:

We sure love spending time with family!  Wish we were able to see them more often... :)
