Happy 2nd Birthday Kaitlyn!!!

It's official, she's 2! (Unless you ask her how old she is, then she says "One!") She had such a fun day, made even more exciting by having Grandma and Grandpa Smith and Lisa over to play. She was in heaven! I decided to spread out the gift giving throughout the day, so she could have time to play with each gift before getting something else. Spencer and I gave her "Super Why" as soon as she woke up... she was so excited! (She had so much fun, the next day she kept asking for more presents.)

Her pet dog. This is the dog she was so excited about at the store, but then threw at Spencer and said, "Daddy have it!" as soon as she saw a Super Why dvd. We ended up giving her both, and she actually plays with the dog a lot. (The only problem is it sheds like a real dog...)

Grandma and Grandpa gave her a little kitchen for her birthday, which she loves! It took Grandma and Lisa quite a while to put it together during her nap....


One of her favorite gifts was the balloons. She ran around the house with them for days. This particular one is still floating in our dining room.





Earlier that day we went into the Dallas trade mart, which is where my parents go for their Christmas show every year. We had a fun time wandering through some of the stores, and then stopped at a park for a picnic.



A yummy birthday breakfast of cheerios and oranges with Grandpa. I think one of Kaitlyn's favorite things about grandpa is he'll always give her oranges.

We had such a great time celebrating her birthday! I can't believe she's already 2. She had her 2 year doctor visit this morning, and is growing like a weed. She is 3 ft tall, 95th percentile, with a large head, and on the skinny side. Her doctor said the old wives tale is that if you double their height at 2 that will be their full grown height... I'm thinking this one will be a little off, and the doctor agreed, she said she'll probably be around my height or a little taller. The good news was NO SHOTS!! That was probably Kaitlyn's best birthday present of all. :)

Thanks to Gramma Smif, Grampa Smif, and Lisa Smif for coming to celebrate with us! I have a lot more posts coming with pictures of other fun activities, as well as all the hard work they did while they were here. They're amazing!!
