The zoo and Tulsa

We had a great time with Lisa in town a few weeks ago. We took advantage of the great weather to go to the zoo. It's so nice to finally be out of the 100s and be able to spend some time outside. It was our best trip to the zoo yet because of that.

Kaitlyn had a great time in the playhouse at the zoo. She was being more brave than usual, and decided to attempt to cross this rope bridge. It just took her about 5 minutes....

I love that smile of David's! And he sure loves his sister. :)

Last week we had the opportunity to go to Tulsa with Spencer for work. We left Monday after dance and drove the 5 hours to the hotel. The kids actually did pretty well in the car. Kaitlyn took a nap when she found out she could go swimming at the hotel if she did. Unfortunately the pool was closed for cleaning for the night, but she had a great time there the next morning.

Kaitlyn was so excited that we were all going to sleep in the same room. Around 6:30 she announced she was tired and wanted to get ready for bed. She was just so excited to get into her big bed. She didn't actually go to sleep until more like 9:00.
David's favorite part was the closet mirror. He thought that little boy in the mirror was a great friend, and really wanted to get to him.
The night ended up not going too well. David has a problem with screaming himself to sleep, especially when other people are making noises in the room. So I was up with him from 4-5 trying to get him to fall asleep, and finally took him down to the lobby from 5-6 and let him crawl around. After that he slept for another hour and then we went to swim. He was a tired boy and slept most of the drive home.
We loved going on a family trip together, but might need to get a sound machine to help out with our next night together. :)

It's been a while since I've checked out what you guys are up too. I remember when we went to a hotel for the first time with all my kids and how excited they were that we were all together in one room. I also remember how hard it was to get them use to sleeping in different rooms when we got back :) Vacations are fun! Your kids are getting so big. SO CUTE!
