4th of July

We had a busy day yesterday. Spencer started out running a 5k with our ward. He invited a guy from work and had a fun time doing it with him. Afterwards we had a pancake breakfast at the church and a flag ceremony, followed by a children's parade. Kaitlyn rode her scooter (for about 30 seconds) and had fun with the other kids. Then we went home and took naps (it was HOT outside and we were already a little worn out).

At noon we headed to a friends house for swimming and a barbecue. They have a gorgeous pool that was a comfortable temperature for such a hot day.
I was amazed at how well Kaitlyn did swimming. Usually she has a death grip hold on us, even in her life jacket. But the Spittles gave her a noodle to swim with and she was going all over the pool on her own. She had so much fun.

Does David look a little hot in this picture? We swam for a while, but then he was done. So we hung out by the pool for a while, and then went inside to cool down. He missed two naps yesterday and was pretty worn out.
Last night we headed to Bakersfield Park to enjoy some free kids rides for Kaitlyn. She attempted to go in a bounce house, but was scared off. So the only ride she really went on was the swings. She loved it!
We hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July!
